The farm

A working farm for twenty years

Five of our eighteen acres are farmland. Long before the first guest, they grew vegetables for leading supermarkets, luxury hotels and airline catering in Sri Lanka — and they still do.

What we grow
What we grow

Paddy in one season, vegetables in the next

What is in the ground depends on the weather and the time of year. These are the crops we have been growing most recently.

In season

Paddy

In some seasons the farmland is flooded and planted with rice, terrace by terrace.

Vegetables

Cabbage

Grown in long rows across the vegetable beds.

Vegetables

Green chilli

A staple of every Sri Lankan kitchen.

Vegetables

Eggplant

One of the vegetables we grow when the season suits it.

Vegetables

Lettuce

Grown in the vegetable beds and picked fresh.

Harvest with us

If a crop is ready, come and help

Staying on a working farm means seeing the work. When a crop is ready to harvest during your stay, you are welcome to join in — it is included, like everything else on the property.

Ask us when you arrive what is ready that week.

Twenty years

A farm before a resort

Before the first guest arrived, these acres grew vegetables for supermarkets, hotels and airline catering in Sri Lanka.
